FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. Can I change the hours that the caregiver works?
A. Caregiver hours can be changed as your needs change. We just request 24 hours notice and that changes go through the supervisor.

Q. Do I pay the caregiver?
A.
No. The caregiver will have you review the time worked and sign their timesheet if accurate, then we will issue a bill to you by mail, once a month, after the month is completed.

Q. What if I don't like the caregiver?
A.
Communicate any concerns to the supervisor, who will either resolve the situation with that caregiver, or try a new caregiver, if necessary.

Q. What if the caregiver can't come when a shift has been scheduled?
A.
Caregivers contact the supervisor with as much notice as possible. The supervisor will then contact you to see if you want to skip the shift, reschedule, or have a fill-in caregiver, and will follow through accordingly.

Q. Are you insured?
A.
Yes. We carry professional liability insurance of $1,000,000.00.

Q. How can I be sure the caregiver you send won't steal from me?
A.
We screen all of our employees by completing a 7 year criminal background check. We require our caregivers to provide us with DMV printouts and proof of current, valid vehicle insurance. We carefully select our caregivers with a thorough interview process along with accurate and precise reference checking. All of our employees are bonded.

Q. How come I have to pay for mileage?
A.
Our caregivers may travel for work anywhere from 1 mile per day up to 300 miles per day depending on clients' needs. We directly reimburse the caregivers the full amount we charge for mileage to help cover their costs of gas, insurance, and vehicle wear-and-tear.

Q. How much notice do I need to give the supervisor to schedule a shift to ensure that I will have coverage for that time?
A.
As much notice as possible. The more advance notice we have the better chance we have at staffing the shift for the exact length of time that you have requested.

Q. What is the cost?
A.
We have a 2 hour minimum. The cost is $22.50 per hour for 2-4 hour shifts, $21.50 per hour for 5-8 hour shifts, $20.50 per hour for 9-23 hour shifts and $19.00 per hour for 24 hour or longer shifts.

Q. When will I get the bill?
A.
We bill monthly and the bills will arrive on or about the 12th-15th of the month after the services were provided.

Q. Do I have to worry about the caregiver's taxes and insurance?
A.
No. We pay the caregivers, they are not independent contractors. We pay them directly and take care of their tax, insurance, and social security deductions.

Q. What happens if a caregiver gets hurt on my property?
A.
We carry workers' compensation insurance on all of our employees. In the event they injure themselves at work on your property they are covered by our insurance policy.

Q. What happens if we decide not to use your services after we have already signed the service agreement?
A.
Because of the nature of our business, circumstances with clients and families change very quickly. By signing the service agreement you are not bound to any set amount of services. If you book a shift with us and decide to cancel, we require 24 hour notice of cancellation otherwise you will be billed for the shift. The service agreement is completed to ensure that we will be able to bill for any services provided. You will not be billed for any services that you do not receive as along as cancellation policies are followed.

Q. What type of training do your caregivers have?
A.
We generally require at least 2 years caregiving experience. In addition, most of our caregivers have had Certified Nursing Assistant training or have taken a 33 hour caregiver training course.

Q. Can the caregiver drive my car to take me shopping and to appointments if I prefer?
A.
Yes, we just need your authorization and proof of current registration and vehicle insurance.

Q. Can I choose a particular caregiver?
A.
Yes. We can certainly allow you to interview the caregiver and decide if they are the right fit for you or your family.
