Q. Can I
change the hours that the caregiver works?
A. Caregiver hours can be
changed as your needs change. We just request 24 hours notice and
that changes go through the supervisor.
Do I pay the caregiver?
No. The caregiver will have you
review the time worked and sign their timesheet if accurate, then we will issue
a bill to you by mail, once a month, after the month is
What if I don't like the caregiver?
Communicate any concerns to the
supervisor, who will either resolve the situation with that
caregiver, or try a new caregiver, if necessary.
What if the caregiver can't come when a shift has been
Caregivers contact the supervisor
with as much notice as possible. The supervisor will then
contact you to see if you want to skip the shift, reschedule, or
have a fill-in caregiver, and will follow through accordingly.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry professional liability
insurance of $1,000,000.00.
How can I be sure the caregiver you send won't steal from me?
We screen all of our employees by
completing a 7 year criminal background check. We require our
caregivers to provide us with DMV printouts and proof of
current, valid vehicle insurance. We carefully select our
caregivers with a thorough interview process along with accurate
and precise reference checking. All of our employees are bonded.
How come I have to pay for mileage?
Our caregivers may travel for work
anywhere from 1 mile per day up to 300 miles per day depending
on clients' needs. We directly reimburse the caregivers the full
amount we charge for mileage to help cover their costs of gas,
insurance, and vehicle wear-and-tear.
How much notice do I need to give the supervisor to schedule a
shift to ensure that I will have coverage for that time?
As much notice as possible. The more
advance notice we have the better chance we have at staffing the
shift for the exact length of time that you have requested.
What is the cost?
We have a 2 hour minimum. The cost
is $22.50 per hour for 2-4 hour shifts, $21.50 per hour for 5-8
hour shifts, $20.50 per hour for 9-23 hour shifts and $19.00 per
hour for 24 hour or longer shifts.
When will I get the bill?
We bill monthly and the bills will
arrive on or about the 12th-15th of the month after the services
Do I have to worry about the caregiver's taxes and insurance?
No. We pay the caregivers, they are
not independent contractors. We pay them directly and take care of
their tax, insurance, and social security deductions.
What happens if a caregiver gets hurt on my property?
We carry workers' compensation
insurance on all of our employees. In the event they injure
themselves at work on your property they are covered by our
What happens if we decide not to use your services after we have
already signed the service agreement?
Because of the nature of our
business, circumstances with clients and families change very
quickly. By signing the service agreement you are not bound to
any set amount of services. If you book a shift with us and
decide to cancel, we require 24 hour notice of cancellation
otherwise you will be billed for the shift. The service
agreement is completed to ensure that we will be able to bill
for any services provided. You will not be billed for any
services that you do not receive as along as cancellation
policies are followed.
What type of training do your caregivers have?
We generally require at least 2
years caregiving experience. In addition, most of our caregivers
have had Certified Nursing Assistant training or have taken a 33
hour caregiver training course.
Can the caregiver drive my car to take me shopping and to
appointments if I prefer?
Yes, we just need your authorization
