Welcome to Mendocino Caregivers where we have been serving Mendocino, Lake, Humboldt and Del
Norte Counties for over 20 years. At Mendocino Caregivers
we are dedicated to preserving and improving the quality of life
for our clients and their families. We provide assistance with
daily needs, enabling clients to live at home as independently
as possible. Our caregivers offer a wide range of services
ranging from light housekeeping to complex personal care. Home
care helps clients to remain in their own home environment which
promotes healing after hospitalization or illness.
Mendocino Caregivers is a
locally-owned and operated small business. The caregivers we
send to our clients are our employees, bonded and insured by us.
We manage all employer responsibilities including payroll, taxes
and worker's compensation insurance. Our caregivers are
competent, experienced and compassionate professionals who
receive ongoing support with RN supervision.
Mendocino Caregivers has a diverse
group of clients that we are all proud to work with: children
and adults with special needs; the terminally ill wishing to
remain in their home in their final days; clients recently
discharged from a hospital setting who need extra care after
surgery, a fall or an extended illness; even those who just want
a few hours of service a week to help with light housekeeping or
need someone to drive them to a medical appointment. The services we offer
bring a sense of safety and contentment to our clients as we
devote our undivided attention to them assisting them in a
variety of ways to improve the quality of life, lifting their
spirits all the while, helping them maintain their dignity and
independence.
Our caregivers become an extension
of family, giving of themselves to their clients, forming a
genuine bond of trust. Family members who live far away depend
on our skills as well our care for loved ones who live alone in
our communities. |
Michele White
Caregiver Manager
“My name is Michele White, and I’m currently the Caregiver Manager of Mendocino, Lake, Humboldt and Pacific Caregivers, and the Chief Financial Officer of our parent corporation, Pacific Medical Resources, Inc. I work out of our main office in Fort Bragg.
“I came to this company in 2008 with a long history of managing small businesses (both my own and others). Although this is my first foray into the healthcare field as far as management is concerned, I served for many years as the primary caregiver for my mother, so I am well aware of the issues that can arise when you have a caregiver in your home, both from the family’s point of view and also from that of the caregiver.
“I have a background in community service as well, serving on boards of directors as diverse as the local Chamber of Commerce, the Food Bank and the Humane Society. I’ve also served as a Fort Bragg City Councilmember and the Mayor of Fort Bragg.
“Pacific Medical Resources is a company of over 150 employees working in four counties. We try to live our theme, We are here for you, in everything we do, both for our clients and for our caregivers.
“It is important to us that, as you search for someone to help yourself or a family member, we are as informative about what we can do to help (and also what we cannot do) as we can possibly be. Our caregivers can assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc), light housekeeping, transportation to appointments, meal preparation, shopping and lots, lots more. All you need to do is ask, and if it is something that is permitted by our license and our insurance, we will move mountains to assist in whatever way is the most helpful.
“Whether we are needed just once a month to transport a loved one to a doctor’s appointment or 24 hours per day, 7 days per week we hope you will give us the opportunity to be of assistance.
“I am, by nature, a problem-solver, and I’m available at any time to help smooth out the wrinkles if a client feels their needs (or those of a family member) are not being met. We are here for you!”
Lorraina Barnard, RN
Director
of Patient Care Services
“Hi, I'm Lorraina Barnard, Director of Patient Care Services of Pacific Medical Resources,
Inc. I am a registered nurse of nearly 30 years, having received my training in
New Zealand. I left New Zealand over 20 years ago and my travels have taken me
all over the world. I lived in Europe for two years and worked as a nurse in the
United Arab Emirates for a British medical company. I've visited diverse,
incredible places such as Machu Picchu in Peru and the vast beauty of Alaska. I
finally settled in the small town of Fort Bragg on the Mendocino Coast where I
have raised two sons.
“Working with Pacific Medical Resources and its various Caregiver regions since 1997 has been an honor and privilege. I hope we get the chance to serve
you with the dignity and respect that you or your family member deserves. We
strive for excellence.”
